Lemon Volcanoes

Hello! Next week we have planned some activities related to fruits and vegetables for our children from school. We have also prepared a great experiment that you can do at home: lemon volcanoes. MATERIALS: 1 or 2 lemons. Baking soda. Food coloring (optional). A little stick. PROCEDURE: First we have to cut the lemon's top and bottom, so you can place the lemon standing and they don't fall. Carve a little bit of the pulp, to make some room for the baking soda. Add some food colouring, in the hole you 've made before, if you want to make the eruption more expectacular. Pour a couple of tea spoons of baking soda inside too. With a wooden stick, let your child to prick the lemon to let the juice out and mix with the baking soda and enjoy the expectacle. If you are up for a more visual explanation, Maria O. explains how to do this great experiment in this video. After the experiment we encourage your children to make a picture of the part of the experiment they've enjoyed th
